Worship

We begin our weekly night of worship (AKA “Overflow”) on Thursdays at 6:15 pm with a free meal* and service at 7 pm. Our Overflows include contemporary and traditional worship music, a brief message from one of our students (AKA “Currents”), prayer, communion, and a sermon. We often have a fun social event/activity (AKA “Refill”) for students after the conclusion of worship. For those that cannot attend the service, we stream all of our Overflows on our YouTube channel. Watch our latest Overflow livestream below.

*We are mindful of dietary restrictions by providing vegetarian and gluten-free options to our meals.

Small Groups

We offer a variety of small groups led by our staff and/or Grow Team leaders that encourage students to grow deeper in their faith in Jesus. Our small groups are safe spaces for students to vulnerably share, discuss, question, and learn.

FRESHMEN GROUP

Meets weekly on Mondays at 7 PM

A small group for freshmen to connect with one another, often focusing on a book and/or Bible study

SOPHOMORE GROUP

Meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7 PM

A small group for sophomores to also connect with one another, often through a book and/or Bible study

JUNIOR GROUP

Meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7 PM

A workshop-style small group designed to assist upperclassmen in thinking about their futures and next steps after college

SENIOR GROUP

Meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7 PM

A small group that respectfully presents differing sides of challenging, difficult topics around faith and encourages all to discuss, question, and learn

RECOVERING FROM RELIGION

Meets weekly on Mondays at 7 PM

A small group for those who have questions about past, present and future experiences within the church or their faith.

Social & Service Events

The Wesley encourages students to connect with others through participating in weekly social and service events. Past social events have included playing arcade games at Pinballz, dressing up for Halloween parties, paddleboarding on the lake, and our Couch Day scavenger hunt tradition. Some of our service events have included teaming up with/serving Feed My People, the UT Microfarm, Austin’s Yellow Bike Project, and Austin Pets Alive. Check out and sign up to join our events here!

Retreats

Every semester, the Wesley takes students on a weekend retreat to escape the city and connect with God. Retreats include impactful guest speakers, encouraging messages, and fun outdoor activities. They are great opportunities to recharge and develop deeper relationships with others.

Missions

Serving on missions is an important part of the Texas Wesley. Some of our past mission trips have included partnering with U.M. ARMY to meet home repair and maintenance needs for those who are physically or financially unable to make the needed repairs themselves, with Casas Por Cristo to serve a family in need by building a house for them in one week, and with Salud y Paz to provide integrated health, healing, and education in Guatemalan communities by enabling access to health care services and early childhood education.
